An Interesting paper on quantum mechanical derivation of Wallis formula for Pi

Dear class 22.11:

I have uploaded a beautiful paper on derivation of an important formula (Wallis formula) for Pi from Schrodinger's equation on stellar. I hope that you can take a moment to enjoy this beautiful harmonic relationship between the atomic world and pure mathematics when you have time.

Solar fusion is now ready on stellar(my last mail)

Dear class 22.11:

This will be the last email of mine. I have posted my last article, which is about the fusion reaction chain in the Sun, on stellar. If you are interested in it, please read when you have time. Now exam is over. I hope that you can have a good rest and enjoy your weekend with your friends or your family. You can go clubbing, dating, shopping, Holloween party, NBA game, etc, and have a fun!

Yours sincerely

Akira

Recitation 7 problems and solutions are ready on stellar

Dear class 22.11:

I have posted two problem about fission reaction on stellar, and the solutions as well. I named the file as "Recitation 7 problems" and "Recitation 7 solutions".Although we are not going to have Recitation 7 this week, but I hope that you can take a look at these problems and solutions to have some basic ideas about fission reactions. After your exam, I probably will post some of my notes on the fusion reaction in the sun (Bethe cycle and Critchfield cycle) to give some intuition about why the huge gravity can induce the nuclear fusion reaction.

Are fission and fusion covered in the exam?

Dear class 22.11:

According to Professor Cappellaro, "fission" might be covered in the exam, but "fusion" will not be covered in the exam . Since we did not have enough time to discuss them deeply in the lecture, you will not be required to discuss fission in detail in the exam. But I would suggest that you may want to have some basic ideas in mind about fission reaction by reviewing lecture note (Lecture 12).
