Final Exam Result and Grades

Dear Class,

The average on the Final Exam is 208/300 and the Std Dev is 46.6. Your grades will be accessible soon. If you would like to know your score on the final exam, please contact your Rec. TA. We are not providing cutoffs for the final, however we reviewed each of your scores throughout the term as well as your answers to questions on the Final Exam to make a definitive assessment of your letter grade. There are no regrades for the final as a result of this super-review process, which included discussions with your Rec. TA, the Head TA, and myself. Your final exams will be available for viewing after tomorrow in Chemistry Education Office.

5.12 Final Seating

Dear class,

The final exam will be held in Johnson Track (Building W34) on Tuesday December 15 from 9AM-12NOON. Seating will be ordered by recitation section. I have uploaded a document named "5.12 Final Seating" under "Unit 5" folder in "Exams" tab. Please make sure that you read the document before the exam and understand where you will be seated.

You are required to bring an MIT photo ID to the exam and place the ID on the corner of your desk during the exam. As always, no books, notes, iPods, cellphones, etc. are allowed during the exam, but you will be allowed to use molecular models during the exam.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us or stop by the office hours we will hold in the following days.

Blank Exams

Dear Class,

Blank copies of Exams 1-3 are now available under Unit 5/Exams heading. Exam 4 will be released after the regrade request period on Friday night.

Final Exams Posted

Dear Class,

I just posted 4 previous finals under Unit 5 Exams. I did not delay the answer key release. Remember simply studying answer keys is not the way to succeed in 5.12.
