Final Project Phase II preview and sign up is now available

Hi everyone,

First of all, don't stress out! If you do not have time to finish the write-up for phase I by tomorrow, I will accept them until next Friday without penalty. However, please make sure you submit all your code by tomorrow morning @ 9:30AM.

I have just uploaded descriptions of 4 project options for phase II (under Materials). Please read through them and indicate your preference on the signup link below. Everyone can only select one option. Option 1 allows 3 people while the other options allows up to 4 people.

The signup list will be used as a reference tomorrow when we decide on the groups (so the list is not final).

lab 7 write-up

Hi All,

The due date for submitting your write-up is tomorrow at noon. Please try to address these:

1- a brief description of the objective of today's lab
2- what steps did you take to define your network
3- what is the accuracy of your trained model
4- what are performance and confussion plots, and how can they help you analyze your trained network

Please also include related plots for each part.

lab 7: neural networks --installation

Hi All,

If you have trouble finding neural networks in the MATLAB, please follow these steps:

- In the "Apps" tab, you should see "Neural Net Clustering"/ "Neural Net Fitting" / "Neural Net Pattern Recognition". If you find these apps, you are set for tomorrow.

- Alternatively, you can run "nnstart" in the command line. If the neural net dialog box opens, it means you have the toolbox installed in your environment. Otherwise, it will give you some error along with instructions for installation.

Please let me know if you faced any issues.

lab 7: install neural networks -- no office hours today

Hi All,

There is no office hour today.

Tomorrow, we will have a recitation/lab session on the use of Neural Networks for digit recognition. Please make sure you have the NN toolbox installed in your MATLAB, and don't forget to bring your fully charged laptops with you.
