Midterm Exam #2 LOCATION CHANGE

Due to a scheduling conflict at the registrar's office, Midterm #2 will be held in 32-123, which is the usual classroom for 5.12. Please spread the news. Good luck on the exam!

Lecture #01 Slides With Examples, Blank Lecture #02 Slides, and PSet #1 Posted!

Yes that's right. 3 new documents:

• slides from Lecture #01 with my handwritten notes.

• blank slides for Lecture #02

• Pset #1 (due September 15th by noon)

Lecture #01 Slides Posted under "Syllabus and Lecture Notes"

For units #1 and #2 of the course, I will post "blank" lecture slides on the day before or morning of class (these will be posted under the "Syllabus and Lecture Notes" link to the left; Lecture #01 is already posted). I will then present these slides in class, and write additional material pertinent to the slides on the chalkboard. You may wish to print or otherwise bring the blank slides to class and write your notes on them.

After class I will post the same slides but they will be updated with my handwritten notes (these will be similar to what was written on the chalkboard in class). This way you can always compare your notes to mine, and have at least two sources of material for problem set and exam preparation.
