It covers the basic elements of probabilistic models, including discrete and continuous distributions, multiple random variables, means and variances, conditioning, Bayes formulas, and limit theorems. As such, it provides a solid foundation for taking other classes that rely on probabilistic reasoning. See the course information and the syllabus below for a detailed description.

Final Exam Grades

You can now check your final exam grade on Stellar, under Gradebook > Final Exam.

SOLUTIONS AND GRADE HISTOGRAMS:
The exam solutions and grade histograms are posted under Materials > Exams.

RETURN OF GRADED EXAMS:
The graded exams will be returned today (Tuesday) during the recitations. Your exam booklet should be in your own assigned recitation group. Unclaimed booklets can be collected from the TAs during the lecture tomorrow (Wednesday).

LETTER GRADES:
The letter grades for 6.041A/6.431A are being finalized and will be released on a later date, as soon as all potential regrading requests are accounted for.

REGRADING REQUESTS:
If you feel that there is a problem with the grading of your exam and would like to request for a regrade, you must submit a **written request** in person to one of the TAs by this Thursday, October 26. On a separate sheet of paper stapled to your exam, write your name, identify the relevant problems/parts, and clearly describe the grading issue. DO NOT write on the exam booklet itself. We are following the policy laid out in the course information, which you should read below:

“After a quiz has been returned, we give students a limited amount of time to resubmit their quizzes for regrades if they feel that there is a problem with the grading on their exam. Your new grade can turn out to be higher, lower, or the same as before. (We reserve the right to regrade the entire exam.) If you submit an exam to be regraded, DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING AT ALL on the exam booklet. Please write a note on a separate sheet of paper. We will reconsider the grade based on the explanation in your note, but TAs are not allowed to discuss the grading with you personally. Any attempt to modify an exam booklet is considered a serious breach of academic honesty. We photocopy a substantial fraction of the exams before they are returned and the probability of catching a change is high.”
