Course Information

15.535 is very useful if you seek a career as a financial analyst, investment banker, equities trader, management consultant, etc. Many students have found this course extremely helpful for their job interviews for summer internships and full-time positions. Students who have recently completed 15.535 have accepted internships or full-time positions at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, and Citigroup.

15.535 builds on the tools you learned in your first accounting class by teaching you how to use financial information to Analyze and Value firms. The course provides up-to-date applied knowledge of fundamental valuation techniques, the pitfalls of accounting reports, and how to "read between-the-lines" of financial statements.

15.535 does not have a final exam, but you do get to apply your knowledge by completing a comprehensive analysis and valuation of a company of your choice. The company analysis is very similar to the reports completed by sell-side analysts on Wall Street. Two examples of company reports completed by students in previous years can be seen here:

Jetblue Company Report - http://mit.edu/wysockip/www/Jetblue.pdf
Pixar Company Report - http://mit.edu/wysockip/www/Pixar.pdf
