"Creating a Transparent Budget" reading
QR Class:
I've added a link to the "Creating a Transparent Budget", which is required reading for next week (or you could download it yourself from http://www.massbudget.org/file_storage/documents/Creating_a_Transparent_Budget.pdf). This will be good background for our guest speaker on Tuesday, Noah Berger, Director of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center (http://www.massbudget.org/).
Thanks.

Regression Slides and Scripts added to Stellar
Class:
I've added pdfs of the slides I showed in class on 4/16 and 4/23 to the material on Stellar (I put them both in week 11). I also added copies of the R scripts I used to create them, and a copy of a dataset I used for the California/Obama example.
If these scripts are helpful, then feel free to explore them, but please please please don't get freaked out if you have trouble understanding each part of the script. I created these slides and examples to show you about regression, not to teach you all the advanced features of R...

Problem Set #3
QR Class:
To serve you better, I've cancelled problem set #3 -- nothing new is due for it. But I am requesting that you start to gather data for your final project and come to class the week of 4/28 prepared to work with it with us. One of the classes that week -- either 4/28 or 4/30 -- we'll hold a sort of "project clinic", where you can start to work on the project with me and the TAs there to help, you can talk over your research designs with each other to gather ideas or identify problems, and we can also give you some feedback on your proposals.

Midterm Answer Key Posted
I just posted the Midterm Answer Key (see
stellar.mit.edu/S/course/11/sp09/11.220/courseMaterial/topics/topic14/studyMaterial/QR_Midterm_Answers_Public/QR_Midterm_Answers_Public.pdf).
Please note that this is not intended to be a substitute for other
ways of figuring out what you missed -- finding solutions in your
books, talking to me, classmates, TAs, puzzling through on your
own, etc.
