Subject Description:
Introduction to organic chemistry. Basic principles of structure, bonding, and the reactivity of organic molecules. Introduction to organic synthesis. Focus on the chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, aromatic compounds, and the chemistry of the carbonyl group.

Final Exam
The seating chart for the final exam is posted on the Exams Page of the 5.12 website. The exam is 1:30-4:30 PM on Wednesday May 19 in Johnson Ice Rink. Please arrive early if possible. Remember that you must sit in your designated section (based on your officially assigned recitation section). See the Final Exam Information and Study Guide handout for more details (available on the Exams page of the website).
Reminder: A "Last Minute Help Center and Hotline" staffed by 5.12 TAs is available tonight! Visit Room 4-270 or call 617 253 1413 with your questions between 7:30 and 11:30 PM.

Last Call for 5.12 Evaluations!
The deadline for completing online course evaluations is 9 AM tomorrow (Monday). Please take a moment to do an evaluation if you haven't done so already. As of Sunday afternoon only half of the class have completed evaluations. We really do value your suggestions on how to improve the course for next year and it is important that everyone provide us with their input. Please tell us what we can do to improve the class, and also tell us what you liked about it (so that we don't change something that most students actually like based on the input of a minority of students). Exam 4 Regrade Requests
Dear Students,Exam 4 may be submitted for a regrade in the same manner as the three other hour exams (see previous announcements). They may be submitted to your TA up until the beginning of the final exam (Wed May 19, 1:30 PM). That is, if you wish, you can give them to your TA at the final exam before it begins.
