Gender Inequality
Hi, all,
Persuant to our sidebar on gender inequality, I have posted three relevant documents under Materials. The first is a reading list from Prof. Katz's class at Harvard, which covers several papers on this topic. The other two are a (slightly outdated) JEP article and a 2011 chapter from the Handbook of Labor Economics reviewing recent work. These are for fun and self-improvement only; you will not be asked about them on the exam.
Thank you all again for a great semester, and I wish you the best in your future endeavors!
Best,
Prof. Ryan

Reminder
We will cover Tyler, Murnane, and Willett today. You can find the reading under Materials or in the Calendar, if you need to read it last minute (for the sake of your erudition, I hope not). It is the last class today! See you soon.
Best,
Prof. Ryan

Food for thought
Hi, all,
I have posted a link to a recent NYT opinion piece about the purpose of college. Consider it some food for thought.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Prof. Ryan

Old Exams
2011 and 2010 have been posted under "Old Exams" in Materials. They are provided with free disposal and no warranty: use your gray matter to determine if those questions are relevant for our class, given what we've covered. As always, everything that we have covered so far will be fair game, with a big emphasis on the topics covered since the last exam. This exam will be slightly more comprehensive than the previous two, by construction.
Best,
Prof. Ryan

Reading for Sections Tomorrow
For sections on Friday, please read the short (5 pages) paper "Adverse Selection and Adverse Retention" under Information Readings. It is an interesting measurement of how private information can influence insurance markets.
Have a great weekend and see you next Tuesday for our final lecture!
Best,
Prof. Ryan
