Review of CDR slides on Wednesday?
Hi all,I am happy to sit with some of you to review slides for Thursday's CDR. We don't have to do a formal 'dry run' altho that is option too. But a 'flip through' would take less time and I know you're all quite busy.
My schedule is open most of the day. But NOT at 2-4. And NOT between 4:-5:30.
Let me know how I can best help you.
Best,
Jennifer

Clarification about citation style
Hi all,Prof Hansman clarified something about AIAA citation style.
A writer CAN use the names of the authors that s/he is citing but it is not commonly done. It is more common to refer to sources by the bracketed numbers. One would use the authors' names to make a point or to be very specific or even courteous, but in this disciplinary community, it is rare to do that.

Jennifer

Using sources in the 16.82 draft
Hi all,You will very likely want to cite the source of graphics as well as possible other relevant literature that supports your design approach.
Because AIAA is an end-note, sequential system, the best way to approach this in collaborative writing is for the writer of a section to put in parentheses that author's name and the year of the citation or some identifying phrase).
Then the writer must give the editors the bibliographic information.
The editors----when smoothing out the whole draft---will then number the source in sequence and create the List of Sources Cited.
If you use RefWorks, be aware that it is a multi-field tool and if you get all the fields just right (not easy), then you can print the ref list. If you don't, it's a mess.
