Project 2 posted
Please note the deadline of ***Thursday night, 11:59pm*** to have a draft design document for your lowir and code generation phases uploaded to stellar by one member of your group. We want to encourage you to get started early. Meet with your group between now and Thursday night. It's important. You don't have to decide everything immediately, but you have to start thinking now. The final deadline for your working code is Tuesday March 20, 11am.Announced on 06 March 2012 2:14 a.m. by Liz Fong-Jones
Lateness policy, P1 info, P0 grades
Three things:1.) Lab 1 will be released by 11:59pm tonight. Apologies for the delay - like many of you, I got very little sleep last night. Please make sure you have a group by Thursday, and email 6.035-students if you're still seeking someone to work with at this point. Groups must be 3-4 students. If you have a group, you can submit your group information to us by all joining the same Stellar section.
2.) Lab 0 comments will hopefully be available by Saturday mid-day so that your group can come to a decision as to which scanner/parser to use for Lab 1 and beyond. Grades may take slightly longer than that.
3.) The lateness policy. We're trying to be fair to a variety of circumstances, so the policy is long.
The grace period on all assignments is 2 hours. We will consider any assignment submitted within that period to be on time, but will be very strict about that cutoff.
We will accept excuses from S^3 or from MIT Medical automatically; if you have other circumstances, feel free to contact us.
Without an excuse:
* If you contact us in advance of the deadline stating what
you're stuck on and what you've tried, lateness penalties
will accrue at 5% per 6 hours late past the grace period, rounded
up (20% per day).
* If you do not contact us in advance of the deadline, lateness
penalties will accrue at 7.5% per 6 hours late past the grace
period, rounded up (30% per day).
Because projects past Project 0 are group projects: by default
we will apply lateness penalties to the entire group evenly. If
your group has a special circumstance (e.g. a team member is going
to be late with something in the critical path while the rest of
the team is done), you may email us as a group with an explanation
and proposal for the
late penalty to be distributed differently.

"Sections" will be used for project groups
Project groups for Project 1 onward will be managed via the sections tool in Stellar. Start thinking about whom you'd like to work with; Project 1 will be assigned Tuesday Feb 21, and once your group is formed, you should pick a section number to correspond to your team and sign up for that "section". You must have a team by Thursday, Feb 23 or one will be assigned to you. Teams must have 3-4 members.Announced on 07 February 2012 1:13 p.m. by Liz Fong-Jones
Project 0 will be assigned on Wednesday Feb 8
Project 0 handouts will be available at class on Wednesday, or online on the course website.Announced on 07 February 2012 11:58 a.m. by Liz Fong-Jones
