Final Grades and Letter Grades posted
Dear 8.04,Congratulations on completing 8.04! Your final exam score (on stellar) and overall letter grade (not on stellar) should now be available to you.
As a class, you all did extremely well. Using the letter cutoffs set at the beginning of the semester (I do not curve), over half the class earned an A. This was considerably better than I expected, despite a challenging final exam. Well done.
It has been a pleasure introducing you to quantum mechanics. I wish you all great success in your future studies, and a wonderful summer!
Best Regards,
Allan Adams
PS -- Note that the "cumulative grade" on the Stellar gradebook has nothing to do with your actual grade, which was determined using the formula in the syllabus (including, for example, dropping your lowest problem set and adding your clicker score).
PPS -- Your final exams will be stored in the Physics Academic
Program Office. As per usual departmental practice, if you would
like to review your final exam, make an appointment with your
recitation instructor to go over it together.

Last Comments on Final Prep
dear 8.04,last notes before the final:
1) rough solutions for the long answer practice problems are posted. they guide you through the key logic. make sure you know how to do the computations sketched out in the solutions when appropriate.
2) as emphasized in the review problems, the focus of the exam is on the basic ideas in quantum mechanics. make sure you know how to solve all the exams and problem sets. if we haven't seen a problem on a topic, i will not expect you to be able to work new problems on that topic, in an exam, without a lot of guidance! make sure you've mastered the basics.
3) as a final reminder, the exam is wednesday at 1:30 in 10-250.
good luck studying!!

ps -- if you're up reading this, go get some sleep! :-)
