Goodbye 2.004
Old graded PSets are available for pickup in a box outside my office 5-207.
Some old Quizzes and your Final Exam are available from Marcia Munger,
my assistant in 5-207. We'll keep these for at least a week.
We had a lot of strong performances on the Final, which makes me happy!
I hope everyone will have a great summer (and don't forget your LaPlace :) )

Comment on Calculation of Frequency of Oscillation
Hi All:I just realized that I made a mistake today in my office hours when I showed you how to calculate the 'frequency of oscillation'. The transfer function we looked at had a denominator equal to s^3+s^2(K-4)+s(4K+8)+4K. We identified using R-H that this system is marginally stable at K = 4.7, i.e. if the denominator is s^3+0.7s^2+26.8s+18.8. This denominator can also be written as (s+0.7)(s+i5.18)(s-i5.18), which results in a 'frequency of oscillation' equal to 5.18 rad/s.
Please note that there are several ways of how you can calculate this 'frequency of oscillation'. An alternative way to do so is for example shown in the solutions to question 1c of quiz 2.
Good luck on Monday!

Comments on Pset 10
Hi All,We have following two comments on Pset 10:
1) In 1g, use the command 'margin' in Matlab to calculate gain margin and phase margin. Explain the results you obtain.
2) In problem 3, there is a sign error in the transfer function G2. Multiply G2 with -1 to answer questions 3a-3e.
Best,
Aron
