2.008 focus group - 5 pm today in 33-206
Below is the announcement from Prof. Hart regarding the 2.008 focus group today. - Sanha------------------
Dear all,
We will meet at 5 pm today in 33-206, with pizza. If you exit 35-225 and walk straight into bldg. 33, 33-206 is on the left just before you enter bldg. 9.
Please see the discussion topics below- you don't need to bring prepared responses, but I just wanted to get us all thinking about these topics (and anything else you have in mind) in advance.
John
---------
In your opinion, what topics in 2.008 lectures were most valuable, least valuable; most interesting, least interesting?
To what extent did the readings and problem sets capture the key concepts addressed and emphasized in lecture?
Was the project well integrated with the lecture material and problem sets?
Talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the project. In what ways did it effectively reinforce the goals of the class; in what ways can this be improved? Is the project challenging, interesting, rewarding, and fun?
What additional topics, if any, should be addressed in 2.008?
From your other courses at MIT, or anything else you are aware of, how could you envision changing the instructional framework of 2.008? We are thinking about advance content delivery (e.g., requiring reading and submission of comments before class), increased use of videos (and contribution of videos by project teams), more quantitative problems/examples, more class discussion, etc.

Despite the busy end of the semester, we hope that you can join us; we really appreciate your feedback
