Followup to today's class... and into the future
Greetings,First of all, thank you all once again for a wonderful semester. We really enjoyed working with you, and certainly learned from it as well.
A few things to followup on, but first of all the requisite reminder that the final p-set is due now (6pm tonight). Please let us know if you need an extra (up to) 24 hours, but otherwise we will expect that your assignments are submitted.
Now to the fun stuff.
Other negotiation courses - You asked about them in class today, and here are some links to what we know is out there:
At MIT, there is Larry Susskind’s Negotiation and Dispute Resolution in the Public Sector (11.255 - http://dusp.mit.edu/subject/spring-2013-11255) in DUSP, and Power and Negotiation in Sloan (15.665 - http://student.mit.edu/catalog/m15b.html). As Greg mentioned, there are also executive ed courses that may interest you as you leave MIT and find yourself in the professional world. One big name here, which Greg and Todd have affiliations with in the interest of disclosure, is the Program on Negotiation (http://pon.harvard.edu).
Job negotiation advice - As promised, here are two different resources that you might find useful:
-Deepak Malhotra at HBS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km2Hd_xgo9Q
- Larry Susskind here at MIT - http://cronlasso.mit.edu/dusp/careers/p.lasso?t=3:3:0
Otherwise, please reach out to us in the future as you like! We are always happy to talk through things and would love to hear what your futures bring.
All the best,
The 11.011 team

IMPORTANT: Final p-set due date (and other items)
Greetings all,An important note regarding the final p-set: Greg and I inappropriately noted that we would provide a blanket 'grace period' until Friday 6pm. This is not in accordance with MIT rules around when assignments may be due vis-a-vis the end of the semester. Instead, the due date will remain 6pm on Thursday. However, if you need an extra 24 hours on an individual basis, please reach out to us BEFORE 6pm on Thursday and we will provide the extra time as needed. Apologies for the confusion here - we are new this and learning the ways of MIT.
For those of you that missed it, the other two announcements at the end of class were:
1) Please complete course evaluations. We are grateful for your feedback!
2) This Thursday's session will be an informal wrap-up discussion and Q&A. Please come armed with questions and issues you would like to discuss.

Reminder: Malta case discussion today
Greetings all,Just a last-minute reminder that we will be discussing the Malta case in class today; reading the chapter (on Stellar) is key to participating in and getting the most out of the session. So, if you have ~30 minutes in the next couple hours we'd suggest you read it if you haven't done so already.
See you at 2:30!
Todd

IMPORTANT - Final p-set and other notes
Greetings all,A few important notes:
1) FINAL P-SET - The final p-set has now been posted to Stellar (under May 15th), as we wanted to give you some extra time. As per the syllabus, it is due next Thursday (May 15th) by 6pm.
2) Questions/topics for final class - Next Thursday's class will be an informal opportunity to revisit some of the topics we have covered throughout the semester, or that you think we have missed and would like to raise with us. We just wanted to give you a heads-up in advance so you come to the session armed with questions/topics. If you do want to raise anything new and you think it would be helpful that we know in advance so we can prepare, please let us know.
3) Evaluations - As noted yesterday, we would be very grateful for your feedback! Please complete the standard MIT evaluation (http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation), but also reach out to us if you have some further feedback and would be willing to share it with us.
Have a great weekend,
11.011 course team

P-sets 2 and 3, readings, and exercises
Greetings,Hope you had a good long weekend!
We wanted to touch-base on a few important things:
1) P-set #2 has been evaluated. You can access your grade and feedback in the Gradebook module (via Stellar). We suggest that you review and consider the comments as you work on p-set #3.
2) The p-set #3 questions have been posted. Responses are due via Stellar by 6pm on Thursday May 1st. Please let us know if you have any questions or problems.
3) The readings for this Thursday remain the same as those originally listed in the syllabus and uploaded to Stellar, but we have revised the readings for next Tuesday through to May 6th. They are now up-to-date and available online.
4) A reminder to watch and comment on the Springfield OutFest videos before class this Thursday.
5) We will be playing the Homelessness in Niceville exercise on Thursday. Watch for an email with the general and your role-specific instructions in the next few minutes - as always, we ask that you please read in advance and come to class prepared to negotiate.
Cheers,
Todd
