Final Exam

Hi all

1. Remember to use the 2*pi/L factor in the definition of the wavenumber vector k. When the domain length is L = 2*pi, for example in some of our earlier examples and in HW8, this factor is 1.

2. We prefer that you submit an online copy of your final exam, either on Stellar or through email to me. You are welcome to scan your handwritten exam.

3. Course Evaluation is available online and we encourage you to submit your evaluation of this course. This is very useful to the instruction team.

Thanks
Birendra

HW8 Prob 1

To remove the effect of grid size, you can plot with k*h instead of k. You can use k*h=[0:0.01:pi]. If you plotted against k, for an assumed h, that is also fine, as long as you extend your x-axis long enough to see the differences between the methods.

Thanks

HW8 Prob2

Hi all

Corrections in the text: pi/2 should be pi.
1. "circle with center (pi, 0)"
2. "concentration plume crosses x = pi"

Thanks
Birendra
