Final Exam Prep

Hi everyone,

Some quick announcements:

1) We will have recitation as usual this Friday, and it will be a review for the final exam.

2) We will have OH during exam week. Stephanie's OH will be Monday 5-6pm in E19-713. My OH will be Wednesday 5-6pm in E17-217.

3) As previously announced, the final exam will be Friday 1:30-4:30pm in our usual classroom.

4) If you haven't done so already, please remember to submit your course evaluations at http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation.

Minimum Wage for UROPs

Hi everyone,

Fittingly given the discussion from today's lecture, Professor Angrist just received the following notification. Will this affect demand for UROPs?

"Dear UROP Faculty Supervisor,

This message is intended to provide you with advanced notice of the Institute’s plan to increase the minimum hourly student wage. Over the next two years the minimum wage will experience two adjustments with the intention of reaching $11.50. In order to comply, the minimum hourly UROP wage will increase as follows:

June 1, 2016, increase to $11.00
June 1, 2017, increase to $11.50

Faculty supervisors using sponsored research funds to support UROP students will be required to pay these minimum hourly rates. We hope that this early notification allows you to plan for these increases."
