Dear Professor Ellison,
Columbia University’s /Journal of Politics and Society/ is currently
accepting student papers for publication in our Spring 2016 /Journal/,
and we request your help in passing on our call for papers to your
undergraduate students.The /Journal/ has consistently published multiple
papers by your students in the past few years, and we would like your
assistance in continuing to discover and print high quality work.
We are an academic journal of the social sciences and history,
distributed nationally among academics on EBSCO, Google Scholar, and the
Library of Congress. The /Journal /features exclusively undergraduate
work on political and social issues. We are seeking outstanding student
research papers from seminars, upper-level electives, independent study
and thesis programs.
If you believe your students have produced work that would be suitable
for the /Journal/, it would be greatly appreciated if you would let them
know about our call for papers (typically between 20 and 50 pages,
although all submissions will be considered). Please feel free to share
this information with your current students as well as those with whom
you have worked in the past.
_The deadline for student paper submissions is August 15th, 2015 _. To

Thank you all for a great semester!
Dear 14.33 Class,
I said it in class on Wednesday but not everyone was there, of course, so I'll repeat: I just want to thank everyone for a great semester. I was my pleasure to work with you and to watch your research projects come to fruition. All best wishes in the future!

Logistics final paper+thanks!
Dear students,
First, I want to thank you for your hard work this semester! I very much enjoyed working with you and seeing how your exciting research projects developed.
Second, in terms of logistics for the last step, please hand in in the 14.33 box before 4:30 pm tomorrow:
1) The original paper with the comments of Prof. Ellison;
2) A document of approx. 1 page explaining how you addressed the comments;
3) Your updated paper.
If you cannot hand in the 3 hard copies at the economics department before 4:30 pm tomorrow, please email them to Prof. Ellison and myself before 4:30 pm tomorrow and drop the hard copies of the 3 documents on Friday in the class box.
All the best,
Daan

Message from Prof. Ellison: Pick-up+ Discuss comments on your papers tomorrow
Dear students,
Your papers, with my comments, will be available tomorrow (Friday, May 1st) at 11am . I will be in my office and available to chat from 11-11:45am and again from 12:30-1:15pm . If you cannot come during those times, you can pick up your paper from the mail basket just outside my office door anytime after 11am tomorrow morning. (I'm not sure how access to my office suite with an undergraduate id works during the weekend, so it really would be best if you picked it up or arranged to have it picked up tomorrow .)
Good luck on the revisions, and I look forward to seeing (most of) you on Monday , if not tomorrow .
