Prepare for Madness!

Wednesday's final class will be primarily devoted to the project madness. You need to prepare a 45-second (no more!) presentation about your project. Your presentation material may be either a live demo of the app, a Google Presentation (world-readable), or a YouTube video. We'll hold votes for a people's choice award, so put some time into making your presentation awesome! Once you've created the presentation material, please put a link to it on this page. For inspiration, watch 30-second video previews at CHI, the premier HCI conference.

HW2 Heuristic Evaluation Assignments

Hi class,

We've assigned everyone to a group as evaluators for HW2. Please read both the Groups and Individuals sections below, and send an email to 6.813-staff@mit.edu immediately if any of the following conditions are not met.

Groups
1) Make sure your group is listed.
2) Make sure your group's evaluators are NOT your group members.

Individuals
1) Make sure your Athena name is listed.
2) Make sure you are NOT assigned your own group or a group in your studio

The assignment results can be found at:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tYl7bUnbkViOXh3mbYYL5VKJD_wRvMhMtePKhn8NpRs/edit?usp=sharing

Unless otherwise noted on the wiki page, please follow the HW2 assignment instruction quoted below ASAP:
"As soon as you receive your prototype assignment, try to run the prototype. You don't have to do your heuristic evaluation right away, but poke around a bit and make sure the prototype appears to work for you. If you have any difficulty getting a prototype to run or finding a suitable platform to run it, send email to the people who created it, and cc: 6.813-staff@mit.edu on your email. Do this trial run by Friday, April 17. We need to get logistical problems out of the way as early as possible."

Enjoy the awesome prototypes your classmates have made :)

Worktime tomorrow

Tomorrow's class worktime is an opportunity to do the first part of your HW2 assignment -- acting as a user study participant for people in the grad course who are doing RS2. See the HW2 handout for details. Next Wednesday's worktime will be similar. If you can't do all your user study participation in class, please use Piazza to connect with somebody doing RS2.

Both worktimes are also times to work with your group. Your group needs to check in with your TA with a status update during both Wednesdays.

The next two Fridays are studios -- this Friday for GR4, next Friday for reviewing the results of HW2 and proposing a plan for GR5.
