An extraordinary journey

Dear All QRers,

4 quizzes, 6 problem sets, 12 recitations, 19 project presentations, 26 lectures, and countless hours of coding and reading…; from mean and standard deviation, to logistic regression and mixture model, it’s been an extraordinary journey by every single one of you! Be proud!

Perhaps the statistics I take the most joy in is that over 90% of you expect to use some bit of QR in your future education, research and practice.

After two years of experiments, QR continues to evolve. Please everyone be part of it: http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation I do listen and respond.

Best,
Jinhua

P.S. It is my fortune to have Jeff, Prassanna and Chris, and the full QR class, as partners in the endeavor. Thank you!

Quiz 4

Quiz 4 will be on Monday. Remember you can bring in 1 page of notes.

It will cover the following:
1. Logistic regression - when to use it, interpret odds ratios for dummy variables
2. DID - how to read a DID output
3. Linear regression - interpret coefficients
4. Correlation and causation

The best way to study for this is to go over Quiz 3, PS6 (solutions uploaded), and the relevant recitation and lecture notes on logistic regressions. All the best and have a wonderful weekend.
