Pset 6 Code Grading More Info

There have been a number of questions about the running time that will be applied to PS 6 for code run locally (on your own laptop, for instance). We will run your code locally on our laptop. We will calibrate our laptop to ALG and determine a cutoff that is equivalent the 20-second cutoff on ALG. We will apply that new cutoff to all locally run code. You should probably feel comfortable if your code runs on your own laptop in the 15–25 second range (15 seconds if your laptop is newer and powerful; 25 seconds if your laptop is older). If you have submitted your code to ALG and it is within time there, then you can ignore all of this.

Announcement on Pset 6 Part B Grading

Due to stability problems on the ALG server, students who have their code running successfully and passing all tests on their local machines (but not necessarily on ALG) should submit their code as is, and we will grade it according to its ability to pass tests locally (please drop a note to your recitation instructor that this is the case). If for some reason the ALG server is not up, you should mail it to your recitation instructor by the deadline. We do apologize for the stability issues of the server, which we have been working on all week but have not yet solved. If your code already runs on ALG and is submitted, you need do nothing else.
