Hi folks -- This Tuesday (5/9) we will focus on the sale of the venture.  We will have with us David Walek, who until his recent retirement from the practice of law was a partner at Ropes and Gray and active in the buying and selling of companies.  Selling even the successful hi-tech venture is tricky -- it is typically a very asymmetric negotiation (small company with limited experience;  big company which does many of these deals) and carries significant risks.  So I think you will find David's discussion very useful. 

David and I have prepared a scenario which we are calling SpeedyCharge (version 2).  It bears some ressemblance to the scenario which was introduced earlier in the semester during the discussion of setting up a new venture.  But the facts are a bit different and several years have elapsed.  Please read this scenario before the class.  You can find it on Stellar in the folder for class 10.

I will be offering two courses next fall:  15.615 and 15.618.  If you are a first year Sloanie, and think you might be interested in being the TA for either of those courses, let me know. 

15.615 will be meeting M/W 8:30-10am
15.618 will be meeting Tues 4-6pm

Since communication for me will get more difficult beginning on Thursday of this week, it would be a good idea if you chased me down sooner rather than later.
