15.386  Managing in Adversity

Thank you for a great class!

All:

Just a short note to thank you for the cards and nice comments. More important, I want to compliment you as a class. You were my best in 15 years of Managing in Adversity. Why? Because of lots of meaningful participation, great questions, great answers. Most important, unlike many of your predecessor classes, your class picked up on and learned and used the methodology I was aiming to teach you for dealing with a crisis…or anything else in life. Issues, options, evaluation of the options, selection of best option with reason why. Use it the rest of your lives in any situation where you have a big decision to make. It will stand you in good stead.

Second, thanks to the good work of our great TA, Faye, there is now a list of the Lessons Learned posted on Stellar. May it be a reminder of the many lessons I hope you learned this semester!!!

Third, a question for you: In the past, I have always been given a ticket by a student to attend the party the night before graduation at the Top of the Prudential Center. It has always been my time to congratulate the graduating students and to meet parents, spouses, etc. I have always enjoyed it…even though faculty are not invited. (I always have been one for breaking rules. That’s what always gets me into trouble at Sloan!!!) I was not planning on going this year, but a number of students have encouraged me to go. It is up to you: do you want me there? Let me know. And I will not be offended if you say you want it to be your night without me!!!
