Hi Folks -- In our next (and last) class next Tuesday (5/15) will focus on two topics: negotiating and administering contracts; and managing litigation and the risk of litigation. One of the posted readings is a short "Peanut" on contract law. Another is the Peanut on "The US Legal System," which includes a brief overview of litigation in the US.

Also, as mentioned in class, I have posted a Sloan Management Review article of mine which is an overview of how the US uses criminal sanctions to police companies and managers.

And please bring your computer to the last class -- I will be setting aside some time to do the on-line course evaluation.

Exercise 3 and next Tuesday's class

Hi folks -- I apologize for the fact that the 3rd exercise was not posted as early as had been scheduled. But the exercise as posted is very short, so I do not think it will be a difficult to complete it before Tuesday's class. I recommend you do that, because our guest on Tuesday will be talking about venture capital and the exercise will introduce you to some key terms that are used in venture capital deals. Best, John

15.618 Reminder: No class Tues 3/20 or 3/27

Hi folks -- Just a reminder: This week is "Sloan Innovation Period" and all regular Sloan classes are suspended. So 15.618 will NOT meet on Tuesday 3/20. And the following week is Spring Break, so there will be no class on Tuesday 3/27 either. Our next class will be Tuesday April 3.

2nd HW due Monday 4/2 7PM through Stellar

Hi all,

As a reminder, the 2nd exercise that's due April 2nd by 7 PM can be done individually or in teams of up to 3 members. However, **ALL STUDENTS** must upload the exercise to Stellar (under the 'Homeworks' tab), in order to get credit.

Please note that we won't be accepting submissions via email.
