Readings this week - Evaluation & Research for Policy
Hi All,The readings for this week are now posted. Xav has added some additional optional readings on the subject of 'Research for Policy' (the subject of the Weiss articles), as well as an RFP for a contemporary research grant. You can look at Stellar for the required vs optional readings and everything should be self-explanatory.
For the book, ideally you will have the updated version of Lipsky and focus on the Preface, Chs 1&2, skim middle, Ch. 11-14. Don't worry if you don't have the new one. Again, I posted a link to the book on google books, although it is not online to a great extent.
Let me know if anything is unclear, but hopefully it won't be!

Updated Syllabus + Readings this week
Hi Everyone,We made a few small tweaks to the schedule to hit some more core readings on the public policy exam; we took away some too though, so don't worry! Please find the updated syllabus posted on Stellar and in the dropbox folder.
The readings for this week focus on: 1) Advocacy Coalitions & Policy Learning; 2) The history of the field. They are all posted.
There is one required Sabatier article and a second optional one if you would like a review of what has happened with the ACF since 1993. There is one chapter from Moran et al. on Policy Learning. And there are two chapters from Moran et al. on the history of the field. In short, 4 required articles, 1 optional. Believe it or not, a lighter week! ha!
Have a great long weekend and see you Tuesday!

Welcome to the public policy readings class!
Everyone who has expressed some interest in the course to date was added to the Stellar site. You are welcome to come to our first session on Tuesday night (6:00-7:30, Room 9-324) to see if you would like to join all the sessions. We will be discussing Policy Paradox (Stone) and several other readings (see syllabus and the materials page for the files).
You can post your two page response paper to the homework section and we will make it visible for everyone to read on Tuesday. Responses are due at 9:00 PM Mondays, but the Stellar page has the deadline set to 6:00 PM so you can download other students' responses ASAP to read them. Do not worry about being marked "late"
Thanks!
