Class for this Tuesday, March 8

As I told you in class, Shigeru will lecture this Tuesday, March 8 on several issues in Japanese unaccusatives and passives in acquisition. The two readings are Miyamoto et al on nominative omission in unaccusatives (children) and Machida et al on the theory of unaccusatives (and "full" unaccusatives) and passives in Japanese children. Both readings are posted on Stellar.

As you read, think about the theories we discussed ( ACDH, EARH, Full Phase Requirement and alternatives) that we discussed.

On March 15 we'll continue with the missed topic on cross-linguistic passives, etc.

See you Tuesday, and thanks to Shigeru for what will be a stimulating lecture, I'm sure.
