Midterm solutions and regrade policy

Dear all,

I have a few announcements.

1) I just posted the solutions of the second midterm.

2) You can ask for a regrade until Thursday but not after that. If you want a regrade, you should return your exam to Alp on Thursday, along with a written explanation of the reasons for the regrade request. Please keep in mind that the entire exam will be regraded and the score might go up or down.

3) If you haven’t picked up your exam yet, you can pick it up in class on Thursday.

Final draft - changes made

Hi everyone,

This is to remind you that in the final draft of the paper, you should have one paragraph describing the changes you have made from the first draft. This will make it easier for us to understand the areas in which you have made improvements.

Reminder - final draft of paper

Hi everyone,

The final draft of the paper is due on the last day of classes, 12 May, in class. If you are unable to attend the lecture, you should email me the paper before 10:30 am.

The final draft will count towards 40% of the grade for the paper assignment. It will be evaluated on the presence of a coherent thesis, and the depth of the use of data and/or other qualitative facts to support the thesis.

I will have my usual office hour from 1 pm to 2 pm on Tuesday in E52-548. If you cannot make it then, please send me an email and we can decide on a mutually convenient time.
