Consumer Behavior: Office Hours

Hi all,
For the last week and a half my throat has been killing me after class, so today I went to urgent care, and apparently I've had strep throat for a couple weeks! On the plus side, teaching is not what has been making me so tired lately! On the minus side, apparently my resting state as a new parent is indistinguishable from having a bacterial infection! What this means for you is that I'm not allowed to get physically close to anyone for 24 hrs until the medicine takes effect, so I can't make my office hours. Indeed, the nurse practitioner scolded me for not coming in sooner, for up until now I've been a walking public health crisis, smiling and seemingly healthy while infecting everyone I meet. In lieu of my physical office hours, I'll hold virtual office hours - From 10am to 11am I'll be on gchat at Tage.rai@gmail and on skype at Tage.rai.

I apologize for any inconvenience, and if you thanked me for the course and shook my hand today, I hoped you washed it, and if not, may God have mercy on your soul.

Your Prof,
Tage

Wednesday's Readings

Hello all,

With regards to the assigned readings on Wednesday, there are a couple of terms that need to be defined - please see below:

Tunnelling- refers to your area of focus. What is in the tunnel is what is being focused on. Outside the tunnel is outside your attention. People under scarcity often focus (tunnel) exclusively on the short-term, while the long-term is outside the tunnel.

Bandwidth- Bandwidth refers to your available cognitive resources at the moment. People under scarcity have less available cognitive resources at the moment to deal with any particular problem, b/c in the background they constantly have to think about other things.

See you tomorrow!

Best,
Ous
