PSet 11 again!
Dear class,I neglected to read the rules for end of semester carefully
enough again and have
broken them by suggesting that you can hand in the final PSet on
Tuesday. The official
due date is still today, but a blanket extension into next week is
not allowed. Se
http://web.mit.edu/faculty/teaching/termend.html#WithoutFinal
The last day that it is possible to hand the assignment in is
therefore
this Thursday, May 12th. Sorry for this revision, but it is
required by
the regulations.

PS: also, the factor of a^2 on the second term in the action should not be there.

PSet 11
Dear Class,I have revised PSet 11 since the first part was very confusing. As a number of you realised, there is only a single even parity dimension-6 operator invariant under SO(4) rotations. However on a space-time lattice there is a reduced set of symmetries and two additional structures are allowed - you do _not_ need to find these.
I added a hint that vastly reduces the computations needed - you might also find it useful to use a symbolic manipulation program like mathematica.
Please hand in this final PSet before the optional presentation session next Tuesday.

PSet 11 posted, presentations
Dear Class, the physics course coordinator has pointed out to me that I am
not allowed to require presentations in exam week even for graduate
students and can only have one assignment/presentation due in
between May 6th and the last dat of class (May 12th).
I mistakenly thought this rule was for u/grad classes only.
For this reason, the class presentations are entirely optional even
for graduate students
and will not count toward your grade which I will compute after the
last PSet is turned in and graded.
For those of you who would like to continue preparing your
presentations, they are good practice for your Part 3 oral exam and
I am more than happy to listen to them as planned. However as noted
above, this is completely optional.
-Will
PS: I have posted the final PSet.
