Practice problems for final

Dear class -

I have posted on the web site a number of practice problems (E-J) for the final exam. They have been cut/pasted from the OCW web site so that only material covered in class is included. You can also use the practice problems A-D posted for the midterm to practice for the first part of this class.

The 85-minute final exam will include:

(1) A small number of questions (1 or 2) on the first part of the class (functions of a complex variable);

(2) A number of questions on the second part of the class. These questions will be very similar to your problem sets and/or the practice problems that I have posted. For the material not covered by the study exams (for ex. Einstein summation notations, vector calculus), the questions will be of the same type as the ones in your problem sets. I also strongly encourage you to check out the problem set section of the OCW web site. Some of these problems will be another good way for you to practice, in particular on Fourier series, Sturm Liouville and Frobenius methods / series solutions. Note that some of the problem sets on the OCW web site cover material not discussed this year by me, and I obviously do not expect you to know the material in those cases.

I will see you on monday for the review session.

Solutions for PS9 and 10 will be posted on the web before tuesday.
