Final Lab this Week

Folks:

Just a few points about this weeks (final) lab. First of all, the plan now is to test your designs by about 1 hour into the session, and then give you the rest of the time to write up your project. To that end we will start right away in the lab and not in the conference room.

The second point is that the system parameters seems to have changed and have now been confirmed as:

m1 = 3.924
k1=1925
b1=0.9
m2=0.840
k2=90
b2=9

This means that before you decide upon the design you want to test, you will have to re-run rltool and simulink to confirm the design with these slightly different number.

Finally, your report should include all the following:

- Model derivation including assumptions, etc, with clear and neat state equations

- How you determined the parameters in lab 8 and any data you used.

- The confirmed model with tested eigenvalues (using the original or new parameters)

The key transfer functions used in your design (clearly presented, preferenably in ZPK format and with small values zeroed out)

All relevant root locus plots used in the design exploration

Simulink model and relevant tests thereof (plot,s etc.)

Final controller design

Data from actual test and comparison with prediction.

[2.004] New Location for Recitation AND office hours...

Dear Class,
Starting this week:
-Wednesday night's 2.004 recitation will be in room 1-371 (same time, i.e wednesdays 7pm).
-Sacha's office hours will be in room 3-442 (same time, i.e. thursdays 3-5pm)

2.004 Final Exam

The Registrar has just announced that the 2.004 Final Exam is scheduled for:
Tuesday December 19, 1:30pm - 4:30pm in DuPont.

The Conflict Examination schedule will be announced by the Registrars Office on Tuesday, November 28 at 5:00 PM.

Recitation Schedule

Dear Class,

The 2.004 recitation will be held on Wednesdays at 7pm, in room 3-133.

I'm very flexible regarding the material that we cover there, so feel free to come with your questions and suggestions, from help w/ the homework to help w/ Matlab or questions about the material...

Being optional, everyone is welcome to leave at any time during the recitation.

The recitation will end when you run out of questions, with a
hard limit at 9pm.
