Announcements

No lectures today; screening at 7 pm

No lectures Tuesday, Nov. 20; screening at 7 pm

Dear class,

There will be no live lectures on Tuesday, Nov. 20; but a screening of Bicycle Thieves will take place in our classroom at 7 pm.

The required lectures for this week are available at http://techtv.mit.edu/collections/21l011.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to encourage all of you to consider taking more courses in film, media and literature.  A concentration in literature would require only two subjects beyond 21L 011, and a minor five additional subjects.  It's possible to create a concentration or minor focused entirely on film and media subjects; courses in Anthropology, Music and Comparative Media Studies that deal with film or media can count toward such concentration and minor programs.  Our film course is also an excellent springboard to a general concentration or minor in a range of literary topics, such as 20th century literature, American literature, drama and performance studies and comparative media studies.

I'll bring some materials describing the Literature curriculum to the lectures after Thanksgiving.

Have a good holiday.  Watch some good films.
