6.00  Intro: Comp Sci & Programming

Fall 2012

Instructor: John V Guttag

TAs: Hiba Awad, Max Nelson, Fu-ming Shih, Fulton Wang

Lecture:  TR11  (34-101)

Information:

This subject is aimed at students with little or no programming experience. It aims to provide students with an understanding of the role computation can play in solving problems. It also aims to help students, regardless of their major, to feel justifiably confident of their ability to write small programs that allow them to accomplish useful goals. The class will use the Python programming language.

Piazza Forum

The course forum on Piazza is a public forum for discussing questions about the assignments. This is a good place to exchange thoughts and get helps from your classmates and the course staff.

Please avoid giving away any part of a solution about the homework directly in your Q&A on Piazza.

The code that you should study in preparation for the final quiz has now been posted.  About half the quiz will involve questions related to this code.  For example, you may be asked to modify it in some way.

Quiz 3 practice exam

We just posted a practice exam for the third quiz (also known as the final exam).  Please note that the study code associated with that quiz (which we will post shortly) is NOT the code we will ask you to study for this term's quiz.  That code will be posted tomorrow.

Hi,

Sorry there was a typo on that last announcement, it is of course, Thursday, December 13, not December 11. Also, the practice quiz has not been posted yet, but will be shortly.
