Preparation for the final exam

Dear students,

I have now posted a topics list for the final exam, as well as a collection of review problems.

As mentioned in class, the final exam will be cumulative, and 2 hours long. You should be familiar both with problem-solving techniques as well as proof methods for the major theorems in the course. Good luck with your studying!

Best wishes,
Holly Krieger

Check your grades!

Dear students,

All grades (except the final exam) have now been entered into Gradebook. Please compare Gradebook to your records to ensure the grades posted for you are correct. IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES OR DISCREPANCIES, THEY MUST BE RESOLVED BY THURSDAY 12/10.

On Thursday 12/10, I will go through the finalized grades, and excuse the lowest homework grade, as noted in the syllabus.

Prime number theorem notes

Dear students,

Dr. Hirsh let me know that some of you requested a copy of the notes from Friday's class. For your convenience, I've uploaded a set of notes covering both Wednesday and Friday's classes, under the title "prime number theorem notes", to the class materials. As these are my personal notes, mistakes are not only possible, but likely, so please use Stein and Shakarchi as a reference as well if there is any confusion.

Best wishes,
Holly Krieger

Extra materials

Dear students,

I have added to the course materials a brief discussion of some things related to the zeta function and Riemann hypothesis - this is to answer some questions I received at the end of class today. While I find this all very interesting, it is only for your entertainment, and you are not responsible for that material on the final exam.
