Final project due / no class tomorrow

Hi All,

We will not have a class tomorrow, Dec 12, as both Bauyrzhan and myself are the American Geophysical Union Meeting in DC. You can use the time to finalize the Final Project.

For submission of the final project, you have until 11:59pm tomorrow, Dec. 12, for full credit. You can submit it up to 11:59 on Friday, Dec. 14, but will be subject to a 20% penalty. You don't need to submit a hardcopy -- electronic submission through Stellar is sufficient.

Monday class = office hours

Hi all,

Instead of the class on Monday, we will have a remote office hour session. You could ask your last minute Final Project questions there.

Practice lab: machine learning

Hi All,

Tomorrow, we will have a practice lab on machine learning using the neural networks. Please bring your laptops with you and make sure that you have the neural network toolbox installed in your matlab. To check that, please call "patternnet" in the command line; matlab will direct you to the installation if needed.
