Mechanics of next Tuesday's presentations
Time and location: ***** 9am Tues 5/13, regular room**** (please be prompt, out of consideration for your classmates)
-- As mentioned, you'll have 12 mins for talking and 5 mins for discussion. You'll have to be rather selective about what you include, to fit in the allotted time.
-- Please have a handout.
If you're thinking of using slides, a couple additional considerations:
- I personally do *not* recommend using slides for this, since a well thought-out handout is far more effective at conveying information in a short time, and I think your time is better spent thinking about the handout.
- Switching laptops to set up presentations eats out of valuable talking minutes, so plan accordingly
- If you nonetheless cannot be dissuaded from using slides, have your presentation loaded, so your laptop is ready to attach and go. Also, have it on a USB drive ready to load on someone else's laptop if necessary
If you have any questions, just let us know!

Readings for next Tuesday; Japanese Palatality
For next Tuesday, please read chapter 2 of Sanders' dissertation. If you have time, go over Buckley and Baranowsky too.By now you have all got back from me your Japanese Palatality HW (apologies for this being so late). There were two solutions to the problem that were successful and compact and made some use of the notion of feature Linearity (or No reversal) that I had hoped you'd employ. I have uploaded one of them under Materials/Units of Correspondence.
