Information: 

Introduction to principles of Bayesian and non-Bayesian statistical inference. Hypothesis testing and parameter estimation, sufficient statistics; exponential families; EM algorithm. Log-loss inference criterion, entropy and model capacity.  Kullback-Leibler distance and information geometry. Asymptotic analysis and large deviations theory. Model order estimation; nonparametric statistics. Computational issues and approximation techniques; Monte Carlo methods. Selected special topics such as universal prediction and compression.

Access to the website is limited to the students enrolled in the course as LISTENERS or FOR CREDIT. Please talk to us in class about registering and getting access to the web site. 6.437 Quizzes, Problem Set 8, and Grades

Congratulations ... all your intensity in the term has paid off and you are all now official 6.437 alumni (and no doubt feel you have the scars to prove it). You have been a terrific group!

Quiz 3 (with your Final Grade indicated) and Problem Set 8, plus another problem sets you might not have claimed earlier) are available for you to pick up from Tricia in 36.677. She is available today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) until 2pm. For times next week, contact her by email (tricia@allegro.mit.edu). Please note that she is unable to provide grade information via phone or email; you must drop by in person.
