Please remember to fill out the online course evaluations. Your feedback is very helpful to myself and Prof. Duflo. As of right now, only 3 of you have completed the evaluation forms!

Pset 5 Returned; other announcements & reminders

Dear Class,

All graded past psets (through PSet 5) that you have not yet picked up are currently in my mail folder on the 3rd floor of E52, across from the vending machines.

As a reminder, all pset solutions are posted to the Stellar website (except PSet 6 solutions, which will be posted tomorrow after the assignment due date passes).

The papers we have mentioned in class over the past week are also posted to Stellar, under readings. This includes: Prof. Duflo's paper on the SPANDANA evaluation; deMel, McKenzie, and Woodruff's work on cash grants in Sri Lanka; and Karlan & Zinman's paper on Observing Unobservables (credit experiment in S. Africa).

For those of you who were not in class today, Prof. Duflo has given some information about the final exam. It will likely be 2 hours long. There will be 1 long question, and two sections of short questions. In each section, you must pick 2 of the 3 listed questions. The exam will focus on topics from after the midterm. However, material from the first half of the class is still relevant. In particular, empirical methods from the first half of the class may be important on the exam.

As a reminder, please see me for office hours this week (before Thurs) if you would like to go over any material for the final exam. Unfortunately, I will not be available to meet you on the week of the exam.

Best,
Leila

Important Announcements

Dear Class,

I have several important updates for you, so please read carefully:

1) The final exam for this class is on Thursday, May 21st, at 1:30 pm in E51-151. I have posted 2 practice final exams to the Stellar Website.

2) I will be available for office hours through May 14th. Between May 15th and the final on May 21st, I will be traveling and will not be able to reply to my email, nor will I be available to meet. So, please see me by May 14th if you would like to go over any material before the final. For office hours, please find me in my E52-351.
Here is my schedule for office hours for the rest of the semester:
Wednesday, May 6 from 4-5 pm (as usual)
Monday, May 11th from 11-12 pm
Wednesday, May 13 from 11-1 pm

3) If you cannot make the scheduled office hours, I am happy to try to schedule a different time, so please send me an email and we can work something out.

4) Our last recitation is this Friday (May 8). Please email me if you have any special requests for what you would like me to cover.

5) Problem Set 6 is due on Monday, May 11th, and it has been posted to the Stellar website, if you did not pick up a copy in class on Monday. Solutions to Problem Set 4 are also posted to the Stellar website. If you did not pick up your graded PSet 4 in recitation last week, it is available in my mail folder (3rd floor of E52).

6) The Aleem paper describing moneylending practices in Pakistan, and the Rosenzweig & Stark paper on marriages and consumption smoothing in India, are both posted to the Stellar website.

Best,
Leila
