Exam 4

The key for exam 4 has been posted. For those of your who have inquired, THESE ARE THE ONLY TIMES YOU MAY PICK UP YOUR EXAM:

Thursday, 5/21/09: 2 pm- 5 pm, the bench outside of 68-329
Friday, 5/22/09: 10 am - 5 pm, the bench outside of 68-329

Final grades have been submitted and you can check your grade on websis once they are posted. Good luck on any other finals you may have, and have a great summer!

Review Material/ Problem Set Corrections

With regards to the review problems, in problem #2 (part 1), both the factty acid groups on the molecule should be palmitoyl groups (16 carbons), there is an extra CH2 group drawn on one of the chains.  Also, in the review notes, pages 4 and 5 describe the breakdown of Leu, Ile and Val, for all of these reactions, the third step should have FAD--> FADH2 (it is written in the other direction in the notes).  Remember that TAs are not perfect and make mistakes, but you are still responsible for the correct information on the test!  Happy studying!

Review Handout Correction

Someone pointed out in the review session that in the mechanisms on page 4 of the notes, it should be FAD to FADH2 and not the reverse. Thank you.

Problem Set 9 Question #2 Correction

Note on Problem Set 9 Question #2: In the compound to the left of the alpha keto glutarate,the methyl group connected to the chiral carbon center should actually be a CO2, not a CH3. Hope that is more clear!
