6.730  Physics for Solid-State Applications

I just posted the solutions for Problem Set 8. Sorry that they're not typed, but I just realized this morning that I had given you guys an old problem set that wasn't the same one as the one that I had meant to give out, and I had to make a new one this afternoon. Also, I posted an alternate Problem Set 8 (the one I had meant to give out) along with its solutions that you can use for practice.

Lastly, some people had wondered if we're going to give out solutions to the practice exam. Unforunately, we won't.

As the title suggests, Problem Set 8 will now be optional, and I will give you the solutions to it on Wednesday. However, we still highly recommend that you do it, since it contains the only problem on the BTE that you've encountered thus far. (The sample exam I handed out today also contains such a problem.)

Also note that I will be having office hours at the usual time this week, on Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Please note that the Course VI evaluation website is now open at https://sixweb.mit.edu/user/welcome . We ask that you fill this out before it closes on May 16. Thanks.

In order to prevent a repeat of what happened with Project Part II, please send your presentations to Qing and I by midnight tonight. Thanks.
