Midterm Announcement (Important, Updated)

The midterm is scheduled at *11am-12:30pm on Thursday, March 31st in 3-343*. The exam will be *open book*. Notes and study materials are allowed.
The coverage is optimality conditions/Lagrangian multipliers/duality theory for constrained problems from Chapters 2, 3 and 5 (more than 50%) and basics from Chapter 1 (less than 50%). The final grade of this course is composed of: 40% midterm + 40% final +20% homework.

The due date of homework 6 is *changed* to Tuesday March 29th, so the solution can be posted before the midterm.

During the spring break week, we don't have lectures and recitation, but will have an office hour at 32D-678 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on Friday, March 25th. Recitation will resume on Monday March 28th.

HI All,

The updated syllabus and materials of reciation 1 are now posted on stellar. The classroom for recitation has been corrected to be 32-141.

This is also a reminder that the first pset is due tomorrow in class.

Homework 1 has been posted

Problems 1.1.1, 1.1.2(b) and 1.1.3 from the textbook "Nonlinear Programming".
Due next Tuesday in class.
