Hi Everyone,

We still have people taking the exam until Friday morning. So please refrain from discussing the content of the exam until after 11AM so that everyone is taking the exam under the same circumstances.

Final Exam Details

Hi Everyone,

Here are some announcements regarding the final exam. Some of these are repetitions from the announcement by Prof. Chen and class lecture.
1. The exam is 80 minutes long. So we'll vacate the classroom, E51-345, at approximately 10:20AM. You CANNOT stay until 12PM to complete the exam.
2. The exam emphasizes on material taught since midterm 2, but it is cumulative. We reserve the right to ask you ANY material taught throughout the semester.
3. You must use a NON-PROGRAMMABLE calculator on the exam. The list of non-programmable calculators is announced below.
4. There are NO CHEAT SHEETS. No other material is used.
5. You will be provided with present/future value tables. You may use present value formulas rather than table on the exam.

Final Exam

Hello All,

The final will be on Wednesday, May 18. The exam will be held in E51-345. The final will be a 80 minute exam from 9AM-10:20AM.

Materials covered in the final include:
Textbook: Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, Ch4, Ch5, Ch6, Ch7, Ch8, Ch9, Ch10, Appendix A (emphasis on Ch4,9,10, Appendix A)
Lecture Notes: from Feb 2 to May 11 (emphasis on from Apr 20 - May 11)
No supplementary readings.

Please bring a non-programmable calculator with you to the exam. No other material or electronic device is allowed during the exam. (That is no cheat sheet and no use of cell phone as the calculator.)

If you have conflicts and cannot take the exam on May 18, please follow the instructions from the MIT Registrar and take the exam at the alternative time scheduled by the Registrar. By now you should have received notice from the Registrar regarding the alternative exam time. If you do not receive any notice from the Registrar, you should take the exam on May 18 9AM-10:20AM.

I will post a practice exam soon and there will be a review session this Friday (May 13). The time & location of the review session will be announced soon.
