Returning LTA equipment
Hey guys,We're going to need your LTA equipment back so we can use it again next year. This includes motors, props, ESCs, batteries, transmitters, receivers, and servos. Please leave this equipment in a neat pile with a sign with your team name on it up on a table in the hangar lab space.
We'd like to have all of the equipment removed from the LTAs by next Wednesday May 18th. If it's not removed by them, I'll have to remove it myself and I can't promise that the LTA will be in one piece after that. Feel free to keep any part or parts of your LTA that doesn't include this equipment.
Thanks for a great semester!

Zero Robotics Call for Summer UROPs
Hello 16.00ers,
Given that all of you are quite into playing PHASE now, you are
beginning to know how much you like, want to spend time with and
learn about Zero Robotics 2011! This is perhaps the best time to
ask you if you want to join our SPHERES team and be on the side
that designs/improves ZR and PHASE.
We have had a very successful ZR SPHERES Challenge 2010 tournament
for high school students with more than 200 students playing
'HelioSPHERES'. ZR SPHERES Challenge 2011 is expecting more
than 1000 participants and your help via 16.00 is been an
integral part of the Challenge development. The Space Systems
Laboratory (SSL) is looking 1-2 UROP students for the summer of
2011 to help us improve the game and the tournament for a Fall
release. Since you have already programmed our software, we will
give students of 16.00 top preferences for this position!
The tasks of the ZR UROPs will be to:
- Refine the game design and code for the Tournament (the game has
already been prototyped by SSL and GAMBIT in IAP 2011)
- Help test the game code on the Flat Floor/Ground and ISS;
participate in the live ISS Test Session
- Develop guides and tutorials for high school students to
facilitate their participation in the Challenge
- Code standard AI players for the game that participants can race
against to challenge themselves
What we are looking for in the UROP:
- C programming experience
- Interest in satellite control and space
- Imaginative ideas for making the competition exciting
- Java programming, actionscript programming and Linux experience
will be a plus but is not required
UROP details:
- Summer of 2011 (June - August)
- Full time
- Funded via Supervisor sponsored research funding from the
SSL
If you are interested, please send me an email at
zerorobotics@mit.edu with a cover letter and your resume. We will
review the applications and schedule interviews to be held next
week. You have all been great at picking Zero Robotics up and we
are really hoping to have some of you stay on with us!
Regards,
Sreeja
(Zero Robotics Challenge 2011 Lead on behalf of the SPHERES ZR
Team)
