practice final exams + review sessions + etc.

Hi all,

1. I posted several practice final exams on Stellar --> Materials --> scroll to the bottom of the page. These are actual final exams from past years. Some of them come with solutions, but try to solve the problems first without looking at the solutions.

2. There is a list of review sessions at http://stellar.mit.edu/S/course/18/sp11/18.02/courseMaterial/topics/topic3/other/text8/text

3. Some of you asked about formula sheets for the final exam. There will be no separate formula sheets. It is a good idea that you remember the formulas that we learned in class and also the basic formula, like cos^2(x) + sin^2(x) = 1. If there will be problems in the final exam that require formulas that you may not know, I'll include a list of these formulas with the exam (like in practice exam C).

subject evaluations + extra practice exam + your questions

Hi all,

1. Please don't forget to complete Online Subject Evaluations at http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation

2. I put an extra practice exam 4 on steller. (Go to Materials section and scroll down to the end of the page.) This is an exam given a couple of years ago.

This practice exam comes with solutions. But first try to solve the problems without looking at the solutions.

typo in pset 8

Problem 3a should say:

1 - cos(B) = 1/(2a^2)

(not 1 - cos^2 (B) = 1/(2a^2) as it was written).
