Assignment 3 Q2c
For this problem you should get terms that also depends on theta_tot (theta + theta'), not just phi and delta_theta.Announced on 07 March 2011 9:07 a.m. by Shannon Xuanyue Wang
Assignment 3 Q1b
Equation (11) as originally appeared in the problem set is incorrect. The corrected version has been updated on the course website.Announced on 05 March 2011 9:47 p.m. by Shannon Xuanyue Wang
Correction to Assignment 2 Q2
An important correction to problem #2 of Problem Set #2. (Sorry for the lateness of this announcement.) If you use the beamsplitter definition from problem 1 to do problem 2 a) and b), you will find that 2b) is impossible (the derivative term is 0). That is because the Yurke state as given is not the correct state for the Mach-Zehnder interferometer with that choice of beam splitter. Please use the definition of the beamsplitter as follows:BaB^dagger = (a - ib) / sqrt(2)
BbB^dagger = (b - ia) / sqrt(2)
For 2c and d, you can use either definition.
