Important Requests ***due to Friday 05/17***
Dear Students,
As you already know, distributions with only 11 data points are very noisy. Right now, still less than half of the students have filled the questionnaire. Please go here: http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation and answer it a.s.a.p.
We really need 100% response rate by Friday. We’ll start our mini-project presentations by 11:00am; if everyone replies the subject evaluation we do not need to spend any time doing this in the classroom.
Please upload both your written report and your power point presentation at stellar and bring a printed copy of the reports to class on Friday. Arrange a meeting with us by email if you have any question on your project work, or need extra time for the written report.
Looking forward to see your presentations,

Subject Evaluation
The student evaluation site is now open for you to submit your evalutions and comments (see link below). These are very important for us, so we would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to to fill them in.

05/03 - Recitation Prep.
Hi everyone,For recitation tomorrow (or today depending on when you are reading this), please bring your laptops and make sure you have Gephi installed along with the Geo Layout plugin. See the short install guide on Stellar for links.
Also, on Stellar you will find a file in Unit 4 called "airline_data.zip". Please download this and find a copy of Professor Gonzalez's (or your own) Facebook network from problem set 3. We will go over an example of visualizing one spatial and one social network in class as preparation for your projects.
Finally, if you have any ideas or questions you want to ask regarding the project, please bring them and any materials you have collected if you want to chat.
See you then,
Jameson

Project Resource
Hi All,Here is the link to the Wolfram blog post mentioned in class. This is a great example of both telling stories with data and good data visualization. Use it for inspiration.
