We would like to get your input on the course. To help you find time to enter the evaluation, we will add 3 points to the lowest of your two quiz grades if you

1. Submit your course evaluation here: http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation

2. Send us an email with this note signed with your name:

On my honor, I affirm that

(a) I have submitted an online course evaluation for 6.s080 for Spring 2014; and

(b) I have given each question due consideration and filled out the survey to the best of my knowledge. I understand that giving "due consideration" did not in any way restrict how favorable or unfavorable my overall review was for the course.

Just to make it clear, we cannot see if you entered the evaluation or not, nor can we see the evaluations themselves at this point. We can only see the number of students who responded. And we would like to hear from all of you!The deadline for the evaluations is Monday, May 19.

Problem Set 11

Hello class!

In response to a Piazza post: problem Set 11 solutions were incomplete and actually contained numerous bugs. I just updated the document so that hopefully all the bugs are gone and now there are solutions to all parts of all problems. For problem 11.2, I added a useful fact about the tail probability of an exponential distribution. I also tried to work out many of the integrals in a reasonable amount of detail.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused by the earlier draft that appeared.

Cheers,
George
