All grades are IN

Dear 8.03 students. All grades are in and you should be able to see them. I converted all missing grades to zeros..

Please check the gradebook and make sure that the numbers that we have are correct. Since grade entry is a error-prone manual operation you should check that everything is OK. If it is not then please let me know ASAP. I will use these grades to decide on the final letter grades tomorrow afternoon.

Red Boxes and Evaluations

Dear Students,

The Physics Department Technical Services Group needs back the "Red Boxes". Please bring them to the TSG office in 6C-207.

The course staff would greatly appreciate if you could fill out course evaluations. In particular we are interested in your opinion about the textbook and the syllabus/content of the course.

Thanks in advance, Bolek

Plans for the last week of classes

Dear students,

During the remaining two lectures I plan to discuss some connections between what we learned in 8.03 so far and quantum mechanics and particle physics. In particular the concept of tunneling in classical and quantum wave mechanics, de Broglie matter waves and particle decays and maybe oscillations.
The Wednesday recitation class will be canceled.
