Practice Problems + Info on the Final Exam

Hi all,

I posted a set of practice final + solutions to help you prepare for the final exam next week. On the first two pages of the practice problems is a list of useful constants and some possibly useful expressions. These two pages will be included with the exam.

The two hour Final is on Wednesday May 18 from 1:30-3:30 in 8-205. Note that the exam is two hours (not three hours, as indicated on the schedule). You can bring two single-sided pages of notes. Please also bring a calculator.

The exam is comprehensive, although there will be greater emphasis on the material covered after the midterm.

I also posted some practice cosmology problems + solutions. They're listed under "Pset 10" on Stellar but you do not need to turn them in. Some of the questions are on material we will cover in lecture tomorrow.

Our TA Alex will hold a review session on Friday 1:30pm in the 6th floor conference room of building 37 (37-656).

I will have office hours on Friday 11:00 - 12:00 and Tuesday 10:30 - 12:30. If you would like to meet with either of us but cannot make these times, please let us know.

Arnett & Bowers 1977 paper for comp pset #4

Hi all,

If you're doing the neutron star model for the comp. pset, you'll need to download the Arnett & Bowers 1977 paper referenced in part a. You can either type into google "Arnett & Bowers ApJ Supplement, 33, 415, 1977" or just go to the ADS cite
