Assignment questions - Brexit

Hi all,

here are the assignment questions for our last case discussion - Brexit!

1. Why did the Leave vote win? What were the voting patterns, and how did they relate to the strengths and weaknesses of the UK overall?

2. What are the costs and benefits of Brexit for the UK? What are the options for the UK’s future relationship with the EU? What strategy would be the best for those who voted to leave? For those who voted to remain?

3. What are the costs and benefits of Brexit for the EU? Will the EU be strengthened or weakened with the removal of the UK from the Union?

See you Friday!

Assignment questions - US CA deficit

Hi,

for Wednesday, note that we uploaded an updated version of the case on the US CA deficit (from August 2017), so please use this updated version for your preparation rather than the one that you have received before.

Please prepare the following questions for Wednesday:

1. Why has the United States developed such large current account deficits?

2. Is the US current account deficit sustainable? Is it an economic problem? A political one? Is the United States headed toward crisis? Why or why not?

3. What, if anything, should the United States do to reduce its current account deficit?
